English football has been suspended amidst the Covid-19 crisis, and while there are hopes for a restart in June, Man Utd’s transfer speculation for the 2020-21 season continues to snowball.
Here are the hottest ones currently taking over the Internet:
Harry Kane
The Tottenham Hotspur star has been on the Red Devils’ radar for quite some time and while he’ll be a great partner for his England colleague Marcus Rashford, chances of his signature at Old Trafford could go either way.
With Spurs feeling the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic and Mourinho accepting that he will have no funds to spend, the sale of Harry Kane will give the manager some much-needed cash flow to upgrade his squad – somewhere around £200million!
However, former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp believes Manchester United would not represent a step-up for the in-demand striker. Unless Jose Mourinho has got three players here he wants to sign and build a better team with.
Jadon Sancho
Jadon Sancho is among two Borussia Dortmund players in hot demand at the moment – him and Erling Haaland. Chelsea, Man Utd and Real Madrid are all gunning for the youngster’s signature, but it seems that the England international is not too interested in a move to Stamford Bridge and is set to choose between a switch to Old Trafford or the Bernabeu.
While Real may look like the obvious choice for Sancho, United could hold the upper hand as they are prepared to pay a big outright fee while the Spanish giants plan to offer players as part of any deal. And since the Red Devils are willing to do everything to bring the England international to Old Trafford this summer, the transfer seems imminent.
Jack Grealish
Jack Grealish’s performances for Aston Villa this season have drawn interest from Man Utd, who are understood to be preparing a bid in the next transfer window. And with United expecting to lose Paul Pogba and, should that happen, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will need a top-class replacement.
The manager is also eyeing Leicester City’s James Maddison, but because he is likely to cost more than £100million, a move for Villa’s skipper has become more appealing to the Old Trafford hierarchy and will be prioritised. Since the asking price for Grealish is only the £60million, Grealish would be a likely choice for the Red Devils.
James Maddison
While Jack Grealish is tipped to sign for the Red Devils ahead of James Maddison, the player’s former manager Derek McInnes. He managed Maddison during his loan spell in Scotland during the 2016-17 season and he indicates that the midfielder could play for any of the big clubs in England.
With Man Utd looking to add new attacking options to their squad when the transfer market reopens, Maddison could very well be a Red Devil soon, if negotiations for the bigger targets fall through.
