Liverpool Are EPL Champions, But There’s More At Stake

Liverpool have finally ended their 30-year wait for a 19th top-flight title after Manchester City’s 2-1 defeat at Chelsea.

Jurgen Klopp’s side, who thrashed Crystal Palace 4-0 on Wednesday, have sealed their first Premier League crown with seven games still to play after City dropped points in a dramatic encounter at Stamford Bridge.

This put Liverpool at the top of the table and they finally received their well earned title.

Even before the final whistle, fireworks could be heard over the city, and despite the lockdown, thousands of fans across Liverpool found ways to celebrate, either by staying at home or heading to the city centre.

However, with very little points separating the teams from the third and ninth positions, places in Europe are very much still up for grabs.

Leicester, Chelsea, Man Utd, Wolves, Spurs, Sheffield and Arsenal all have an outside chance of landing a spot in the Champions League.

Spots in the Europa League are also up in the air, with Norwich and Newcastle the least likely teams to push for qualification – only if they win the competition.

So don’t tune out of the EPL yet, because there’s still loads more to play for!
