A couple of great matches headlined the English Premier League 2021/22 Matchday 4, with all producing mixed results.
Manchester United 4-1 Newcastle United
In the most anticipated game of the matchday, United was up against 19th-placed Newcastle at Old Trafford. With all the focus on Ronnie, he made his re-debut with the Red Devils even more unique, scoring the opening goal, while Newcastle levelled it back soon. However, he put the side ahead again, followed by brilliant strikes from Bruno Fernandes and Jesse Lingard to seal the deal and complete Ronaldo’s memorable return. As a result, United has risen to the top.
Crystal Palace 3-0 Tottenham Hotspur
Eleventh-placed Palace hosted fellow Londoner Tottenham. Although the latter was the favourite to win, a red card to Japhet Tanganga in the 58th minute ruined it all for it. It was followed by three goals from the former, as it won 3-0, while Spurs slipped to the fifth spot.
Arsenal 1-0 Norwich City
Arsenal failed to win its opening three matches but finally got things underway with a 1-0 win over newly-promoted Norwich at the Emirates Stadium, thanks to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s sole strike in the 66th minute. As a result, it has risen to the 16th spot.
Leicester City 1-0 Manchester City
Defending champion City travelled to take on ninth-placed Leicester. As expected, it turned out to be a tough clash, with the former managing to edge past, thanks to Bernardo Silva’s 62nd-minute strike. Consequently, it has risen to the third spot.
