English Premier League 2021/22 Season | Matchday 15 Roundup

The English Premier League (EPL) league table continues to get intense with each passing matchday. This past weekend produced some interesting results.

West Ham 3-2 Chelsea

The game began in a stop-start fashion, neither side able to gain control, before Thiago Silva scored his second goal of the season with a fine header just before the half-hour mark to put the Blues ahead. West Ham soon equalised via Manuel Lanzini’s spot kick after individual errors from Jorginho and Edouard Mendy, before a fantastic effort from Mason Mount restored the Chelsea lead just before half-time. Jarrod Bowen equalised in the 55th minute, forcing the Blues to go on the attack in search of a winner. Despite constant pressure, a deflected effort from Arthur Masauku caught Edouard Mendy off guard to put the Hammers ahead in the 86th minute, snatching the three points.

Wolves 0-1 Liverpool

Divock Origi came off the bench to score a stoppage-time winner as Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Wolves at Molineux took them top of the Premier League above Chelsea before Man City’s win at Watford. The Premier League top scorers had spurned numerous chances with Conor Coady producing a heroic goal-line clearance to deny Diogo Jota as Wolves defended doggedly. But their resistance was broken in the 94th minute when Mohamed Salah set up Origi who swivelled and turned home from close-range, sparking wild celebration in the away end.

Everton 2-1 Arsenal

Everton won their first Premier League match since September 25 thanks to a sensational Demarai Gray strike. Martin Odegaard put the visitors ahead, before Richarlison equalised, and that came after the Brazilian had two previous goals chopped off by VAR for offside. Arsenal have now lost three consecutive away game at Everton.
