Continuing to build on the success and appeal generated by previous editions, LVMH Watch Week has become a must rendezvous for watchmaking professionals around the world, establishing a position as a key complementary event alongside traditional watch trade shows. The LVMH Group’s four watchmaking Maisons are holding the third edition of LVMH Watch Week from January 24 to January 28, featuring an online presentation of their latest creations for journalists and retailers around the world.
‘TIME ONLY’: FOR THE FIRST TIME, THE BIG BANG INTEGRAL IN 40 MM
Three pieces, three hands, three materials, but just one diameter: 40 mm. This is a first for the Big Bang Integral. Never before has Hublot’s iconic design been fitted into such a slim-fitting and sexy outfit.
Thinner than ever, perfectly adjusted in a case of yellow gold, titanium or ‘All Black’ ceramic, it lends a refined perspective to time. This new collection, simply named ‘Time Only’, refocuses on the essence of watchmaking: hours, minutes, seconds and the date, without losing any of the power of the watchmaker’s codes. The true aesthetic signature of the Big Bang Integral, the integrated bracelet, returns to give the watch its strength.
RETURN TO THE ORIGINS OF YELLOW GOLD: HUBLOT RECONNECTS WITH ITS FOUNDING SPIRIT
The new Hublot pieces exclusively unveiled at LVMH Watch Week recapture the original essence of the manufacture: the fusion of gold and rubber in a sporty chic aesthetic, at a time when, over 40 years ago, the concept of the sport chic watch didn’t even exist.
Each of these six pieces represents a little piece of the manufacture’s history and the way in which it is moving forward. A clear line between what Hublot was, is and will be. Charting 40 years of history, expertise, creativity, total technical mastery and the foundations of a legend which, 40 years ago, had just one model: the Classic Original of 1980.
THE BIG BANG UNICO GOLF IS BACK, THIS TIME IN ORANGE CARBON
In 2017 and in partnership with the most successful golfer of his generation Dustin Johnson, Hublot introduced the world’s first mechanical golf watch with aperture display, the Big Bang Unico Golf. Most golf watches are digital, but this innovative Swiss Made watch brought the joy of watchmaking mechanics to golfers’ wrists.
Hublot developed a module for its iconic Unico movement so that through three apertures, the watch shows golfers which hole they were on, how many shots they’d taken on that hole, and their cumulative score for the round. The Big Bang Unico Golf Orange Carbon continues the story, casing the ground-breaking Hublot MHUB1580 automatic movement in zesty, lightweight orange carbon.
THE MAGIC OF INKED TIME
The Hublot X Sang Bleu story continues, with three new iterations of the Big Bang Sang Bleu II. To mark their 7th year of collaboration, Maxime Plescia-Buchi chose to apply his ink to two iconic materials born from the Hublot Art of Fusion – Magic Gold and ceramic. Two scratch-resistant materials which nevertheless bear the indelible mark of the famous tattoo artist. 550 tattoos to wear on the wrist in 3 limited editions.
BIG BANG ONE CLICK 33, 39 AND 42 MM
With even more sparkle this year, the Big Bang One Click 33s reveal their many facets and come with a new luxury. Available in King Gold or steel, partially or fully set, the cases feature black or white polished dials, around which the precious hours are arranged. True to its Art of Fusion, Hublot attached them to a matching black or white rubber strap. Twelve versions, a multitude of styles.
A collection of twelve silky bracelets, cut from ‘soft touch’ grained calf leather changes, with the seasons. Depending on the mood, they can change the style and look in one click, using the patented ‘One click’ system. Twelve Soft Touch calf leather straps produce subtle style changes on the wrist, twelve colours, from the most timeless to the most sparkling or intense, created with vegetable tanning in France. It is a way of reconciling the vagaries of time with the eternity of a style. These straps are also available for the 39mm Big Bang One click and the 42mm Big Bang Unico.
