In our weekly talk cock sessions, we look at the latest transfer news, gossips, and highlights that have football fans all over the world buzzing with excitement.

Prospective new Chelsea owner shares plans to buy

Candy, a British billionaire who made his fortune through property development, is just one of several interested parties who are looking to acquire Chelsea after it was put up for sale by Roman Abramovich. A spokesperson told Sky Sports his most immediate action should his bid be accepted would be to introduce a fan representative on the board in order to give supporters a voice in the decision-making process of Chelsea. Candy, 49, is said to be a lifelong fan of The Blues, and has stated he would be willing to provide funding to secure the club’s future if it faces dire financial straits in the comings weeks following the sanctions imposed on it by the UK government as a result of being an asset of Roman Abramovich.

Spurs urged to sell Emerson Royal

Despite only arriving from Barcelona last summer, full-back Emerson Royal has struggled to establish himself as a Tottenham Hotspur first-team regular. A string of poor performances has seen the 23-year-old Brazilian lose his place to backup right-back Matt Doherty. Although former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has been hugely critical of Doherty, Royal has not escaped the punditry wrath. Addressing concerns over Royal’s opening campaign for the Lilywhites, former Sunderland striker Kevin Phillips, who spoke to Football Insider, has urged chairman Daniel Levy to cut his losses as soon as this summer’s transfer window opens.

Bruno Guimaraes almost joined Arsenal

Newcastle United’s new £40m signing Bruno Guimaraes has revealed he was in line for an Arsenal transfer. Guimaraes signed from Ligue 1 side Lyon in January, and while he has started just once, owing to a period of adapting before being throw in at the deep end, this one start has already yielded results as the Brazilian netted a sublime winner against Southampton with the back of his heel. An an interview with Sky Sports, Guimaraes spoke about how he was in talks to sign with a number of clubs, one of which was rumoured to be none other than Arsenal. Arsenal were in the market for a classy centre midfielder to bolster their midfield for the rest of the season, but were ultimately unable to make a move for any player stick.

PSG target Cristiano Ronaldo

Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly a top summer transfer target for French giants Paris Saint-Germain. The Portugal international is being eyed up to come in alongside the appointment of former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane as the club’s new manager, according to Todo Fichajes. Ronaldo could be a dream signing to play under Zidane, with the pair certainly striking up a hugely successful partnership when they were together at the Bernabeu. As noted by Todo Fichajes, this could be a winning combination for PSG as they finally look to get their hands on the Champions League in the 2022/23 season. That trophy has eluded the Ligue 1 giants so far, with their best run in the competition coming in 2019/20, when they were beaten in the final by Bayern Munich.

Conte in awe of Ronaldo

During Antonio Conte’s post match press conference, after Tottenham lost 3-2 to Manchester United in the Premier League, the Italian manager took the time to compliment an astonishing performance from Cristiano Ronaldo.

Gaetan Coucke wants West Ham move

West Ham would like to sign a new goalkeeper in the summer and according to recent reports, KV Mechelen’s Gaetan Coucke would welcome a move to the London Stadium. That’s according to a recent report from Belgian outlet Het Nieuwsblad, who claim the young shot-stopper is keen to leave his current club in favour of a switch to David Moyes’ Hammers. Although the goalkeeper’s value is listed as £810,000 on Transfermarkt, HN’s report states the Hammers could sign him for as little as £675,000. Currently aged just 23, Coucke has featured in 104 senior career matches, in all competitions, successfully keeping 20 clean sheets along the way.

Yannick Carrasco could join Newcastle

Atletico Madrid reportedly expect Newcastle United to revive a potential transfer move for Belgian winger Yannick Carrasco this summer. The 28-year-old was a target for Newcastle in January, and Atletico supposedly expect the Magpies will launch another move for him ahead of next season, according to Goal. Carrasco has had a fine career at Atletico, and has a £50million release clause in his contract that should be perfectly affordable for Newcastle. NUFC will surely be tempted to make an offer close to that clause, or to trigger it if they cannot agree a deal with Madrid. Eddie Howe spent big in January, signing Kieran Trippier from Diego Simeone’s side, as well as Bruno Guimaraes from Lyon.
