As you guys may know, the all-new Overwatch 2 has been released just at the beginning of this month. After playing it for a few weeks, we have developed a 4-part Tips and Tricks series for you to enjoy the game better and rank up more quickly. Today, we will discuss the essential tips, and how it differs from the first Overwatch (which has already been phased out).
1) New Player VS Environment matches (PvE)
In their standard game modes, Overwatch lacked a PvE mode. A PvE mode for Overwatch 2 is planned to debut. As early as 2023, new objectives and tasks will be released as seasonal content, and players can anticipate them.
2) Season Passes have replaced loot boxes in Overwatch 2, which is a free-to-play game.
Firstly, you should know that Overwatch 2 has transitioned to a free-to-play model, with expensive seasonal passes totally replacing the game’s controversial loot box feature. It has undergone the most significant alteration. Additional players can quickly unlock the new heroes by purchasing the premium passes, or they can earn them using the season pass’s free path. By advancing their pass level through daily, weekly, and seasonal quests, players can also get a wide variety of cosmetics.
3) Redesigned 5-player squad as opposed to the traditional 6-player team
With the switch to five-vs-five, the basic gameplay of Overwatch 2 has undergone a significant and (maybe) positive adjustment. With only one tank on each team, Overwatch no longer suffers from the excessive shields when it featured two tanks. Although tanking is much more difficult with this new arrangement, the adjustments also provide DPS players and heroes with a greater sense of impact.
4) New maps
In Overwatch 2, the Escort game-style map pool will include Circuit Royal. The Hybrid map pool now includes Midtown and Paraiso as well. A new Colosseo and Queen Street map will be included in the new Push game mode.
5) Three new heroes (and more to come!)
There are already three new heroes in the game, and more will be added in upcoming seasons. Players will be able to team up with the cyber soldier DPS Sojourn, the damage-dealing gladiator tank Junker Queen, and the ninja healer Kiriko throughout the first season.
In our next few articles, we will discuss further the new maps, new heroes, as well as the best gameplay, to rank up. Do stay tuned for these!
