Romelu Lukaku joins AS Roma and is confirmed

Agreement reached on loan deal valid until June 2024 — player will travel to Roma on Tuesday.

Salary coverage is around €7.5m for 10 months. Loan fee higher than €5m.

Lukaku’s move would reunite the 30-year-old with Jose Mourinho, with Chelsea set to accept a £5m loan fee despite wanting £8m.

The bonus for Chelsea is that they will not have to pay any of his wages for the whole season.

The green light arrived also on the player’s side.

Manchester United will not allow West Ham target Harry Maguire to leave on loan

Man United only want a permanent move for Maguire.

Man United only want to sell, as they still have plans to bring in a new defender and midfielder.

United’s focus remains on bringing in a left-back with Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella, Barcelona’s Marcos Alonso and Brentford’s Rico Henry among their list of options.

They also want a midfielder with Bayern Munich’s Ryan Gravenberch and Sofyan Ambrabat of Fiorentina in their sights. As yet, they are unaware of interest from Bayern Munich in Scott McTominay.

Nottingham Forest has decided to reject a formal bid from Brentford and a verbal bid from Tottenham for Brennan Johnson

The proposal from Brentford was worth £43M plus add-ons and a sell-on clause, not enough to get Forest the green light.

Tottenham has held back their official bid which is worth £35M plus add-ons.

Tottenham are still interested and has contacted Forest to sign Johnson.

Brentford have currently left conversations for Brennan Johnson and focusing on different targets.

Tottenham is prepared to insist on talks with Forest.

Spurs already held positive talks on the player side and now discussions taking place on the club’s side.

Nottingham Forest is holding Brennan Johnson’s valuation of £50M.

Manchester City agreed a long-season loan deal for João Cancelo to join FC Barcelona
