Newcastle rejected a £100M bid for Bruno Guimaraes from Liverpool in the closing stages of the transfer window.

The Reds continue to keep the Brazilian midfielder in their short and long-term plans.

Bruno Guimaraes is close to signing a new contract at Newcastle worth around £120,000-a-week.

The Magpies have been desperate to tie the Brazilian down amid interest from Real Madrid, Liverpool and Chelsea.

His representatives were keen for a release clause to be inserted in the new deal, which could be set well north of £100 million with Newcastle desperate not to lose him to a rival.

Saudi Pro League director of football Michael Emenalo still wants to sign Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah

Liverpool’s Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah was the subject of a huge offer from Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad towards the end of the Premier League transfer window, though it was rejected by his current club.

Saudi Pro League director of football Michael Emenalo has declared that he is not giving up on the possibility of signing the star forward in the future.

Al-Ittihad offered £150 million for the winger last week, but Liverpool turned down the offer and made it clear the player was not for sale.

Another bid of £215M was rumoured to be on the table before the end of the SPL transfer window, but it closed on September 7, without any further offer and neither Liverpool nor Salah did not enter to negotiate.

Salah has a three-year contract with Liverpool, which runs for a further two years after he elected to stay at Anfield last summer.

The SPL Director Michael Emenalo believes that the 31-year-old Egyptian could still make the switch from the Premier League in the future.

Real Madrid will face competition from Al Hilal to sign Kylian Mbappe in the winter transfer window

Saudi Pro League sides may provide competition for Real Madrid for the signature of Kylian Mbappe and may offer a fee to secure his arrival in the winter.

Al-Hilal made a £257M bid to PSG to sign the forward earlier this summer, only for Mbappe himself to rebuff talks.

Al Hilal, and their Saudi counterparts for that matter, find themselves in a similar position to Real Madrid should they make another attempt to sign him.

They have the chance to swoop for his services on a free transfer from January, whilst they no doubt have the funds to try and tempt PSG into a sale in just four months.

Whether Mbappe would have changed his mind and would then be interested in a switch to Saudi Arabia at that time remains to be seen.

Villarreal are hoping to appoint Raul as manager

Villarreal wants to appoint Raul as their new manager, and Real Madrid has given the club legend permission to take the job.

Raul Gonzalez is considering the offer Villarreal has made him to become Quique Setien’s replacement.

The coach and his entourage have already notified Real Madrid leaders, who have given the green light for him to become the coach of the Yellow Submarine.

Raul is intrigued by the project that Villarreal offers him.

Villarreal’s challenge interests Raul, or at least has made him doubt staying with Los Blancos, something that has not always happened when he has been called by other clubs. It is not a simple locker room, something that can be confirmed by ex-manager Quique Setien, a coach who could not handle veteran players with a lot of say within the group.
