Chelsea are looking to sell Romelu Lukaku next summer as they hope to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen this winter.

Chelsea are encouraged by Lukaku’s recent upturn in form following his return to Italy. There is positivity that they will finally be able to move him on at the end of the season.

Osimhen is now understood to be looking for a way out of Napoli, who were threatened with legal action earlier this week by the Nigeria international’s agent following an offensive post that was shared on the club’s TikTok.

Although Napoli has since issued an apologetic statement, relations between the club and players appear to be damaged beyond repair.

Chelsea are keen to take out a loan worth a quarter of a billion pounds, after their huge outlay.

Chelsea are weighing up taking out a potential loan worth as much as £ 250 million after Todd Boehly’s extraordinary transfer spending over the last year.

The Blues already have £800million in loans in place but can take the limit on these up to £1.05billion. It has also been suggested that lenders attended Chelsea’s recent clash with Aston Villa in the Premier League, although no concrete decision has been on whether to borrow more money.

On top of the club’s major investments in the transfer market in recent times, Boehly and his partners are also considering the possible redevelopment of Stamford Bridge. In a separate deal, the two-time European champions also have raised £500million of ‘subordinated debt’ from Ares Management recently.

Bayer Leverkusen are not concerned by the prospect of manager Xabi Alonso leaving to replace Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid.

Bayer Leverkusen chief Simon Rolfes has rubbished reports linking Xabi Alonso with the Real Madrid job next season.

However, Rolfes insists they are not worried about Alonso jumping ship just yet, given that he signed a new deal recently which keeps him at the club until 2026.

With Roy Hodgson likely to step down at Crystal Palace in the summer, the club have identified Paulo Fonseca as a potential replacement.

Crystal Palace have put Portuguese coach Paulo Fonseca on their radar as the long-term successor to Roy Hodgson,” the paper states.

The Eagles will wait for the right time to move for the highly-rated Lille boss, who was on their hit list before they picked Patrick Vieira in July 2021.

Hodgson, 76, agreed to stay on for this season but Palace are already working out a plan for when he finally leaves.

Fonseca, 50, is keen to come to the Prem.

Ipswich chief Kieran McKenna is also on the shortlist at Selhurst Park.
