The breakout Spanish international’s goal for FC Barcelona against Granada CF this weekend at the age of 16 years and 87 days broke the record held by Malaga CF’s Fabrice Olinga (16 years and 98 days) set back in 2012.

Lamine Yamal can’t stop breaking records. FC Barcelona’s 2-2 draw at Granada CF on Sunday night may have ultimately been a disappointing result for the Blaugrana but it was a bright day for the youngster. He scored his first-ever LALIGA EA SPORTS goal, pouncing on a rebound from a Joao Felix shot just before half-time to kick off a comeback which saw his side come from 2-0 down to salvage a point.

“I’m really happy, it’s an honour for me to become the youngest ever goalscorer in LALIGA EA SPORTS and FC Barcelona history,” he said after full-time. “It’s a bittersweet feeling getting only a draw, we wanted a win.”
Lamine hasn’t stopped setting and breaking records since he burst onto the scene earlier this year.

He is already FC Barcelona’s youngest-ever senior player (15 years and 290 days); the youngest ever LALIGA EA SPORTS champion (15 years and 305 days); the youngest starter in LALIGA EA SPORTS this century (17 years and 38 days); the youngest assist provider in LALIGA EA SPORTS this century (16 years and 45 days); the Spanish national team’s youngest ever debutant (16 days and 57 days); and the youngest ever goalscorer for the national team (16 years and 57 days).
