Karim Benzema is going to stay at Al Ittihad despite being linked with a January move to Manchester United, Arsenal. Chelsea and Lyon.

The French veteran is unsettled in Saudi Arabia but seems likely to stay in the Pro League.

Karim Benzema will remain at Al Ittihad as the Saudi Pro League January transfer window deadline approaches.

Lyon was exploring a move for their former player during the January window, six months on from his move to Saudi Arabia.

The 36-year-old signed a three-year deal with Al Ittihad last summer after moving from Real Madrid.

Benzema was absent from team duties over the recent Saudi Arabian mid-season break, leaving on holiday without permission before reporting late back to the team.

Miguel Almiron staying at Newcastle

Miguel Almiron is set to stay at Newcastle beyond this month after Saudi Pro League side Al-Shabab failed to reach their asking price for the Paraguayan.

Like Chelsea above, Newcastle are looking to sell players for FFP reasons, and that has led to several star players being linked with a move away this month.

That includes Almiron, 29, but with Al-Shabab unwilling to meet the £30m fee Newcastle want, having seed a £17m deal rejected last week, it appears the Saudi side will turn their attention elsewhere.

That means Eddie Howe’s hopes of bringing in any new signings this month will rest on other players departing the club as Newcastle attempt to remain within the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules.

An approach from Bayern Munich for Kieran Trippier was rejected earlier the month, while the England striker Callum Wilson has yet to attract any bids after also being put up for sale.

Amad Diallo wants to go back to Sunderland after a previous loan spell

Amad Diallo wants to go back to Sunderland, where he had success on loan last season.

A mooted switch to Middlesbrough is unlikely because the player does not want to turn out for Sunderland’s rivals.

Manchester United’s Amad is keen on a return to Sunderland, where he was a success on loan last term.

The Ivorian has struggled for consistent minutes ever since his £36million move from Atalanta in 2020 but produced some of his best football at the Stadium of Light last season.

Those exploits didn’t further his first-team ambitions at Old Trafford however.

Amad has also been linked with a move to Middlesbrough, who are now managed by former United assistant Michael Carrick, who would’ve worked with the Ivorian when he first arrived in Manchester.

The Riverside outfit is one of Sunderland’s main rivals, which would’ve added controversy to any switch.

Brighton are leading the chase for Tottenham forward Bryan Gil.

Nottingham Forest are also keen and the Spaniard could leave before the transfer window shuts.

Brighton have opened talks with Tottenham over a move for out-of-favour attacker Bryan Gil.

Gil can leave Tottenham ahead of Thursday’s deadline and Brighton are now in discussions with their north London rivals over a potential move.

It is understood the Seagulls are looking to secure an initial loan for the attacking midfielder – who is also attracting interest from Nottingham Forest.
