Kylian Mbappe is reported to have decided on his future, and it appears that the Frenchman will join Real Madrid next season.

Mbappe, who has been heavily linked with Madrid for a long time, entered the final year of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain and was sent to train with the club’s reserve squad after he made his intent to leave clear last summer.

A move did not materialise and he was quickly reintegrated into the squad as the Ligue 1 season began, and since, the forward has scored 20 goals in 19 games in France’s top tier.

Madrid had offered Mbappe a deal, and this new report claims that the France international is set to announce his decision next week.

The report also revealed that Mbappe had turned down a pay rise on his €72 million annual salary from PSG, and by opting to leave the French champions as a free agent, he will write off an extra €100 million in bonuses.

It is believed that PSG have resigned themselves to the prospect of Mbappe moving on, and the Ligue 1 table-toppers have reportedly identified Rafael Leao as the top candidate to replace the forward on the left wing.

Pep Guardiola has shrugged off claims that Erling Haaland is unhappy at Manchester City

Haaland returned from a couple of months on the sidelines as a late substitute in City’s win over Burnley earlier in the week, and Guardiola said the Norway international was now fit enough to press for a start.

But during his press conference looking forward to the game with Brentford in the Premier League on Monday, the Spanish coach had to field questions about his star forward’s future.

Reports in Spain claimed Haaland was unhappy in the northwest and craved a move to Real Madrid.

Guardiola appeared untroubled by the reports, saying he does not get the feeling that the former Borussia Dortmund striker is unhappy.

“I don’t know, you have to ask the media from Madrid,” Guardiola said when asked if the report was published to unsettle Haaland. “Maybe they have more info than we have”.

“We don’t have that feeling that he’s unhappy. He was [unhappy]. He could not play for two months because he was injured but maybe the media from Spain, and especially Madrid, have more information than us”.

“We cannot say he didn’t adapt quickly [on joining in summer 2022] and he was not fine since he arrived. But we cannot control what people say”.

“What’s important is that he’s happy. And when he’s unhappy, he will make his decision.”

Manchester United playmaker Bruno Fernandes is wanted by Saudi Pro League leaders Al Hila

Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes is a target for Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal.

Fernandes, 29, whose stats since he joined United in January 2019 were described by Rio Ferdinand as being “off the charts”, would join the likes of Neymar and Ruben Neves if he were to join Al Hilal, who currently top the table in Saudi Arabia.

The Portugal playmaker is understood to have turned down a massive offer to ditch Old Trafford in favour of a move to the Middle East. However, the problem isn’t set to go away just yet amid talk Saudi Pro League leaders Al Hilal will make another attempt to land the midfielder in the summer.

Which suggested Jorge Jesus is very interested in a reunion with his former charge. Jesus, 69, briefly managed Fernandes at Sporting CP before his first stint in Riyadh, and he’s now seemingly intent on another spell as a colleague in luxurious surroundings.

The 29-year-old has a contract in Manchester until the summer of 2026, with the option to extend by another year should both parties agree. However, interest from Saudi Arabia may be one of United’s few options for recovering a bulk of their initial outlay on the player should they decide to cash in.

Manchester United is in a battle with neighbours Manchester City to sign Crystal Palace star Michael Olise

Manchester City are prepared to “fight” Manchester United “all the way” for Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise.

The 22-year-old has stood out in a struggling Palace this season despite being hampered by injury, scoring six goals and registering three assists in 11 games.

United have long been linked with the forward but now Pep Guardiola’s side is also said to be eyeing up a move.

Pep Guardiola will fight Erik ten Hag in the chase for Crystal Palace sensation Michael Olise.

Manchester City see the French talent as a major capture for the summer and they are lining up a huge offer.

Meanwhile, Ten Hag also wants Olise as a flagship arrival of the new Sir Jim Ratcliffe era at Manchester United.

But City hope the allure of joining Pep’s squad will tempt the Palace wideman.

Money will be no object as City will throw £60million or more at the Palace star, who limped off in the 4-1 defeat at Brighton, in the next window.

Chelsea may try again but it is shaping up to be a City vs United scrap.

He will only move if he thinks he will get game time and that is likely as Guardiola only plans minor squad changes.

The 22-year-old’s contract at Selhurst Park runs until 2027 and there is reportedly a release clause in the deal – but the amount is unknown.
